Research Group Business Information Systems

Our profile

We develop solutions for current social and entrepreneurial challenges using languages, methods and tools of applied computer science. We see business information systems as the key to analyzing and improving business processes and their impact on the environment. Our research work is based on database technologies and methods of software engineering and business process management.

Business process management and process mining

We support the entire life cycle of business processes with innovative information and communication technologies. In our work, for example, we use process mining, simulation, machine learning or generative AI for the modeling, analysis and execution of business processes.

Internet of Things and robotics

In close cooperation with companies, we are working on solutions to exploit the potential of IoT and robotics for process support. In our IoT and robotics labs, we use AI technologies and, in particular, multimodal language models to develop concepts for process-supported robotics, automated software tests and assistance systems.
